Who We Are:
Gianludovico and Camilla de Martino di Montegiordano, owners of the Palazzo Carratelli. Gianludovico is a retired diplomat, and Camilla is a portrait sculptor. They bought the palazzo in 1995 and have been restoring it ever since. Now it serves as their delightful home and an inspiring venue for hosting painting holidays with invited tutors.
Our Palazzo:
Situated in the old centre of Amantea, below the ruins of a castle, Palazzo Carratelli spans three levels with a spacious artist’s studio and gallery overlooking the new town and the sea. Antonello da Messina is said to have stayed here in 1460. On clear days, you can see the volcanoes Stromboli and occasionally Etna in the distance.
